THE SAN DIEGO IN FOCUS LEARNING CENTER
The IFLC creates artists. Its instructors teach people to be visionaries with their cameras, to see options once hidden and to explore who they are. Its goal is not just to teach people to be photographers — it’s to show them the path to true artistic expression.
In 2007 nearly 8 million digital SLRs were sold, a 39 percent leap from 2006. Each consecutive year this number has grown. The research firm IDC noted in a recent report that this surge will continue well through 2012. Lower prices, do-everything lenses and marketing campaigns that promised the moon convinced many that the SLR held the answer to their picture-taking woes. They were looking for magic — what they found was the truth: Great photographs don’t come from great cameras, they come from great people and no matter how much they spend on their camera it can only capture light ... it can’t create art.
Pride and artistic expression aren’t features that can be dialed-in or added later in Photoshop. They come from experience, perseverance and a willingness to make mistakes. Our goal here at the IFLC is to bring confidence, vision and pride back to photography — one artist-with-a-camera at at time.
